Rural Survivors Deserve Expert Care — SAFE-T System Is Making That Possible

A recent feature in Healthcare IT News spotlights the critical gap in sexual assault care across rural America — and the nurse-led innovation closing it. In many rural communities, there are no certified sexual assault nurse examiners available to conduct forensic exams, collect evidence, or guide survivors through one of the most traumatic moments of their lives. For too many survivors, that means traveling hours for care — or not seeking it at all.
SAFE-T System was built specifically to change that. Rooted in over a decade of research through Penn State’s College of Nursing, our forensic telehealth platform connects local nurses with expert SANE support in real time — so survivors can receive trauma-informed care close to home, regardless of where they live or what resources their hospital has on hand.
We’re proud to see this work recognized. Read the full story at Healthcare IT News: The nurse who closed a dangerous gap in rural sexual assault care
